Christianity entered in Nepal:
The historical records show that the first Christian presences were Jesuit missionaries. They had mission stations in Patna, India and discovered the Nepal Valley, particularly the Kathmandu Valley while traveling from Patna to Tibet to preach there. Jova Caraval was the first Jesuit missionary who remained in Nepal for significant length of time. He came in 1628 during the reign of king Shiva Singh on a return trip from Tibet. In 1661-1662 another group of missionaries were allowed to stay in Nepal, after two Jesuits named Grubber and Dorwitt procured permission from the king Pratap Malla. But the first residential missionaries were Father Horesh and two others who in 1713 began the first Gospel work in Nepal. During the dynasty of king Bhaskar Malla, plagues spread in Nepal for three years. The King allowed those missionaries to do the treatment of the victims of the plague.
